Amazon Black Friday 2026 UK: start date, best deals, Prime tips

Amazon hasn't announced its Black Friday 2026 dates yet, but expect Black Friday Week to start around Thursday 19 November and run to Cyber Monday, 30 November. You don't need Prime for most of the deals, though the free trial is worth starting the day the sale opens.

Amazon's own devices, such as Kindle, Echo and Fire TV, are mostly at full price after October's Prime Big Deal Days, so wait for those. A few appliances are already cheaper at Amazon than at Argos. Last checked: 28 October 2026.

Amazon Good price

Shark FlexStyle 3-in-1 Air Styler & Hair Dryer (HD426SLUK)

£30 under Argos on 27 October. It has been about £189 in the last three months, so it's a fair price rather than a record low.

Ninja Foodi MAX Dual Zone Air Fryer 9.5L (AF400UK)

About £20 less than Argos on 27 October. This big two-drawer model is usually discounted for Black Friday, so wait unless you need it now.

When does Amazon Black Friday 2026 start?

Amazon hasn't announced it yet. Its UK press pages had nothing on 2026 dates when we checked on 28 October. The last two years give a clear pattern:

  • 2024: Black Friday Week ran from 21 November to 2 December. Amazon announced it on 8 November.
  • 2025: Black Friday Week ran from 20 November to 1 December. Amazon announced it on 13 November, with early deals on everyday essentials from that day.

Both times the sale started on the Thursday eight days before Black Friday and ended on Cyber Monday. Black Friday 2026 is on Friday 27 November and Cyber Monday is 30 November, so the same pattern points to roughly 19 November to 30 November. Treat that as our estimate, not a date. Our when is Black Friday 2026 guide tracks every retailer's dates.

Do you need Prime for Amazon Black Friday deals?

No. Amazon said last year that you don't need Prime to shop its Black Friday deals, and Lightning Deals are only Prime-only during Prime Day and Prime Big Deal Days (the October 2026 one ran on 6 and 7 October). Prime does help with:

  • Free fast delivery. Useful if your basket is small or you're cutting it fine for Christmas.
  • Member-only extras. In 2025 these included grocery vouchers for new customers at Morrisons, Iceland and Co-op on Amazon.
  • Prime Video, Amazon Music and Prime Reading over the holidays.

Prime costs £8.99 a month or £95 a year, and 18 to 22-year-olds pay half. If you're not a member, the 30-day Prime free trial is worth starting on the day the sale opens, not before, so it covers Black Friday, Cyber Monday and early-December Christmas orders. Our Prime free trial guide explains the timing and how to cancel.

What's on at Amazon right now

There's no official Black Friday event yet, but some prices are already competitive. On 27 October Amazon was £20 to £30 cheaper than Argos on the Shark FlexStyle and the Ninja AF400UK dual-drawer air fryer (see the deal cards above). Most of Amazon's own devices, including Echo, Kindle and Fire TV, were back at full price after Prime Big Deal Days. Those are the products Amazon cuts hardest on Black Friday, so don't pay full price for them now.

Last year's Amazon Black Friday prices

These are 2025 Black Friday prices, not current ones. They're a good guide to what Amazon is likely to charge again:

  • Kindle (2024, with ads): £69.99
  • Kindle Paperwhite (2024, with ads): £134.99
  • Echo Dot: about £30
  • Fire TV Stick 4K: about £25
  • Ring Battery Video Doorbell: about £40
  • Kindle Scribe: about £259
  • Fire TV Omni QLED 50in: about £300

If an Amazon device is above these figures in the week of Black Friday, it's probably worth waiting. Amazon refreshed its Kindles this autumn, so see our Kindle Black Friday guide for which model to buy.

How to check an Amazon deal is real

Amazon's 'was' prices and 'RRP' labels don't always reflect what an item has actually sold for. Before you buy:

  1. Check the price history. Paste the Amazon link into CamelCamelCamel or Keepa. Both chart Amazon's own price over months, so you can see whether today's price is a real low.
  2. Set an alert. CamelCamelCamel will email you when a product drops below a price you choose, so you don't have to keep checking.
  3. Check who's selling it. 'Sold by Amazon' or the brand's own store is safest. Be wary of marketplace sellers with big discounts on brands you've never heard of.
  4. Compare one other shop. Argos, Currys and John Lewis often match Amazon during Black Friday, and they have their own returns windows.

Returns over Christmas

Amazon's normal returns window is 30 days from delivery. For the 2025 season, the UK extension let you return most items bought between 1 November and 25 December 2025 until 31 January 2026, or 30 days from delivery if that was later. In October 2026 Amazon said its US extension will be repeated for 2026, but it hadn't confirmed UK terms when we checked. Until it does, assume a similar window but don't rely on it for anything you might want to send back in late January.

When do Amazon Black Friday deals start in 2026?

Amazon hasn't said. Based on 2024 and 2025, expect Black Friday Week to run from about 19 November to Cyber Monday, 30 November, with the dates announced in the first half of November.

Do I need Prime to get Amazon Black Friday prices?

No. Most Black Friday deals are open to everyone. Prime adds free fast delivery and a few member-only offers, and new members can try it free for 30 days.

What sells cheapest on Amazon on Black Friday?

Amazon's own devices: Kindle, Echo, Fire TV, Ring and Blink. Last year the basic Kindle fell to £69.99 and the Fire TV Stick 4K to about £25. Small kitchen appliances from Ninja and Shark are also usually cut.

Can I return Amazon Christmas presents in January?

Last year, yes: most items bought from 1 November to 25 December 2025 could be returned until 31 January 2026. Amazon hasn't confirmed the 2026 UK dates yet.
