Saturday deals: a Lumie sunrise clock for £74.25, 20% off perfume gift sets and a £28 Elizabeth Arden set
The clocks go back tonight (Sunday 25 October, 2am), so the dark mornings start properly next week. That makes today a sensible day for a sunrise alarm clock, and we've found two at fair prices. The rest of today's list is beauty and fragrance. The Perfume Shop and Superdrug have both cut their gift sets by 20%, and Boots has two strong offers.
A quick steer: 20% off fragrance gift sets is the going rate a month before Black Friday, so it's fine to buy now if you want to tick off presents, but don't expect it to be the lowest price of the season. 25% off with the code HOME25 at checkout. Lumie is the best-known name in sunrise clocks, and the light slowly brightens before your alarm, which helps on dark winter mornings. Argos hasn't given an end date for the code, so don't leave it long.
Dreamegg Sunrise Alarm Clock (Sunrise 1)
A cheaper alternative to the Lumie, with a sunrise light, sounds and a radio. It was £45.99 earlier in the week, so it's about £4 above its recent low. Fine if you want one this weekend; otherwise watch for it to drop back.
Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Multitasking Masters gift set (4 pieces)
One of Boots' limited-stock Star Gifts. You get a full-size 50ml Eight Hour Cream and a full-size lip protectant, plus a mini moisturiser and a 30ml Miracle Oil. Boots values the four products at £68.50, though that's the total of their list prices rather than a previous selling price.
Calvin Klein Eternity Moment For Women Eau de Parfum 100ml
A big 100ml bottle for £39. Take the £98 'was' price with a pinch of salt, as this older scent is often cheaper elsewhere. £39 is still a fair price for a full-size designer perfume, and the offer has been running for about two weeks.
Rabanne 1 Million EDT gift set (50ml, 10ml travel spray, 150ml deodorant)
20% off, and Superdrug charges exactly the same. A reliable Christmas present for men who like a sweet, warm scent. Some Rabanne bottles were half price last Black Friday, so only buy now if you want it sorted.
Viktor&Rolf Flowerbomb Eau de Parfum gift set (50ml and 10ml travel spray)
20% off, matched by Superdrug. The 10ml spray makes it a better present than the bottle on its own, as it fits in a handbag.
Versace Miniatures Eau de Parfum gift set for her (4 x 5ml)
Four Versace minis for under £30, and the men's version is the same price. A good choice when you don't know which perfume someone wears, or for a Secret Santa with a bigger budget.
Worth waiting for?
Buy now: the Elizabeth Arden set, because Boots Star Gifts are limited stock and tend to sell out rather than get cheaper. The Lumie is a good price while the HOME25 code lasts, and you'll get the most use from it over the next few months.
Fine now, might drop: the fragrance gift sets. 20% off is a fair price but it's the standard pre-Black Friday discount.
