Audible free trial and deals UK: what you get and how to cancel
Short answer: the best Audible deal right now is Audible Standard at £0.99 a month for three months, which runs until 28 December 2026. If you have Amazon Prime, the Premium free trial is better still: 30 days free with two audiobooks to keep. After any trial or offer, Standard costs £5.99 a month and Premium £8.99 a month.
Whatever you choose, the audiobooks you buy with credits are yours to keep even if you cancel. Prices and offers were last checked on 24 October 2026.
Audible Standard: £0.99 a month for 3 months (then £5.99)
Three audiobooks to keep for £2.97 in total. Audible's 'Season's Savings' offer ends on 28 December 2026. It renews at £5.99 a month, so set a reminder if you only want the three months.
Audible Premium 30-day free trial (then £8.99 a month)
One credit a month plus the Plus Catalogue, which you can listen to as much as you like. Prime members get two credits during the trial instead of one, so check you're signed in with your Amazon account.
Audible Premium for a year (limited-time offer)
£59.99 for 12 months, against £107.88 if you paid £8.99 every month. Audible hasn't given an end date. Only worth it if you already know you'll listen all year.
Audible annual plan: 12 credits
All 12 credits up front for £69.99, about £5.83 a book. Good if you get through audiobooks in bursts. There's also a 24-credit plan for £109.99.
Audible Standard plan (after the trial)
One audiobook a month to keep, without the Plus Catalogue. Unused monthly picks don't roll over, so it suits people who listen to one book a month and no more.
Audible Standard or Premium: which should you choose?
Audible renamed Premium Plus to Premium in 2026. The benefits are the same. There are now two monthly plans:
- Standard, £5.99 a month. One audiobook a month to keep. Unused selections don't roll over, and you don't get the Plus Catalogue.
- Premium, £8.99 a month. One credit a month to spend on almost any audiobook, plus unlimited listening to the Plus Catalogue (thousands of audiobooks, podcasts and originals). Credits roll over, up to six.
If you listen to one book a month and don't care about the extra catalogue, Standard is the better deal, especially at £0.99 for the first three months. If you listen to more than one book a month, or want to try lots of titles, Premium is better value.
Prices in the Audible app on iPhone or Android can be higher than on the website, so sign up on audible.co.uk.
How the Audible free trial works
- It lasts 30 days, and you need a payment card on file.
- You get one credit to spend on any audiobook. Prime members get two.
- It renews automatically at the full price unless you cancel.
- For the Standard trial, you mustn't have been an Audible member or had a free trial in the last 12 months. Prime members who have already had the two-credit trial can only get the Standard trial.
Spend your credit before you cancel. Unused credits are lost when your membership ends.
How to cancel Audible
- Sign in at audible.co.uk on a web browser.
- Go to your name, then View membership details.
- Choose Cancel membership and confirm.
Deleting the app doesn't cancel. If you joined through the Apple App Store or Google Play, cancel through that store's subscriptions instead.
Your benefits carry on until the end of the period you've paid for. Audiobooks you bought with credits or cash stay in your library for good. Plus Catalogue titles disappear from your library once you cancel.
Will there be an Audible Black Friday deal?
Probably. Last Black Friday, Audible UK offered three months for £0.99 a month plus a £10 bonus credit, open to new and returning listeners until 1 December 2025. Audible hasn't announced a 2026 Black Friday offer yet. The £0.99 Standard deal that's live now runs to 28 December, so it may be this season's main offer. If you've been waiting for a cheap way in, it's a good one.
Do I keep my Audible books if I cancel?
Yes. Anything you bought with a credit or cash is yours to keep. You lose access to the Plus Catalogue and any unused credits.
Is Audible included in Amazon Prime?
No, it's a separate subscription. But Prime members get two free audiobooks on the Premium trial instead of one. See our Amazon Prime free trial guide for what Prime does include.
Do Audible credits expire?
Not while you're a member, though they stop building up once you hit the rollover limit (six credits on a monthly plan). Credits from a gift membership expire after six months. They're lost if you cancel, so use them first.
Can I get the Audible free trial again?
Only if you haven't been a member or had a trial in the last 12 months. Returning listeners sometimes get special offers instead, like last year's Black Friday deal.
Listening on a Kindle
Newer Kindles with Bluetooth can play Audible audiobooks through headphones. If you're buying one this season, our Kindle Black Friday guide has the target prices, and our AirPods Black Friday guide covers headphones. For everything else, see every Black Friday 2026 guide.
